Warm White vs. Cool White: Which Color Temperature for Your Home?
Choosing the right LED color temperature for permanent outdoor lighting.
Most homeowners don’t realize that permanent outdoor lighting comes in different shades of white.
Warm white (2700K–3000K) — our default recommendation
This is the temperature of a classic incandescent bulb. It’s golden, soft, and reads as cozy.
Neutral white (3500K–4000K)
A middle-ground option.
Cool white (5000K+)
Bright, clinical, blue-leaning. We almost never recommend this for residential homes.
Color-changing for special occasions
Trimlight’s RGB-W system means you can run warm-white year-round AND tap into the full color spectrum for holidays.
